Spring is probably my favorite time of year to shoot sessions… the colors are so vibrant, the weather and temperature outside is perfect and comfortable (as long as those pesky thunderstorms stay away, haha)! So as soon as everything started blooming this year I took advantage and headed out with my dlpROLEmodel team and we explored the Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Green Park in Springfield, MO. The park is lovely and had lots of sweet spots we could use, as long as we didn’t mind sharing with the bumble bees who particularly liked all the azaleas!
If you’ve thought about doing a senior portrait session in the Spring, I highly recommend booking early. These few weeks where nature is in full bloom are particularly fleeting, so spots can fill up quickly. They can also be tricky with all the spring showers and storms that pop up, so be prepared to be flexible in rescheduling. I schedule back up times during these weeks for that very reason. Even though they can be more challenging than other seasons, they are oh so worth it!
